Skip the beach for the day and do something different! Explore the wild and rugged interior of Fuerteventura, and see a different side to this beautiful Canary Island. Highlights- Learn all about traditional majorero handicrafts at Los Molinos Museum - Admire unforgettable otherworldly landscapes - Savour a tasty lunch at a traditional restaurant Travel in luxurious, comfortable eight-seater people carriers and visit the parts of Fuerteventura you would probably never see otherwise. A knowledgeable local guide will provide a fascinating audio-commentary throughout, giving you snippets of information about all the different sights and attractions. The first stop is the atmospheric lighthouse at Las Playitas. Next stop is the charming village of Tiscamanita. We'll visit the Los Molinos museum where you can learn all about traditional majorero handicrafts. You'll also get a chance to try the local staple, gofio as well as other local products including bread, olive oil, tomatoes and wine. We'll drive on to the picturesque village of Pajara with its lovely church decorated with mysterious carvings, before we move on through stunning mountain scenery, heading for the former capital, Betancuria. This small settlement was founded in 1404 and was the main city on the island until the 19th Century. You'll have plenty of time to snap up some of the local handicrafts and sample some goat's cheese before we stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant. Then on the way back we'll stop at an Aloe Vera plantation and a salt museum. A great way to discover the real Fuerteventura. Languages English, French, German and Dutch.
